  1. It sounds like you are going to have an interesting semester. I too have a student who sounds similar to your β€œheart’s girl.” She completely changes the classroom dynamics and I am a little apprehensive when it comes to trying to figure out a method to reach her. I want to find a way to reach all of my students this semester and really teach them something valuable; whether it is about the literature we are studying or something completely random. Anyway, it seems like you have a lot of big plans and are ready to start putting them in motion! You will be great!

  2. I love how you call her “hearts girl.” It makes me smile. One of my students puts hearts by her name on every assignment she turns in πŸ™‚ Anyways, you are definitely right about needing a strong administration that backs you up. I have heard some bad stories where teachers haven’t had them, and as a result, the kids don’t take their teachers seriously. My friend just started teaching in N.C. and has come to realize how important the administration is and can be. It can make your job a lot easier or a lot harder. At Andrew Lewis, I think that we have great principals. Each grade has a separate one, and ours is great. I see him everyday. He always pops his head in, as well as greets students in the hallway.
    Well, I think that you are doing a great job. You are handling things very well πŸ™‚
